2050 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP)

2050 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP)

The Martin Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is developing the 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) called “Martin Moves 2050”. This plan provides equitable and full representation for all affected communities to assist with transportation decisions throughout the region. This plan will strategically address Martin County’s evolving transportation needs, focusing on safe, accessible transportation, sustainable mobility solutions, and innovative transit options to accommodate growth and enhance connectivity throughout the region.

The Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) is a key document for the Martin MPO, as it projects transportation needs over the next 25 years and prioritizes projects to meet these needs. Updated every 5 years to account for changing socioeconomic data, travel patterns, and local priorities, we use comprehensive public input, advanced modeling, and data analysis to strategically allocate federal and state funding to the projects that matter most to the community.

Draft Vision Statment

Establish a framework to create and maintain a safe, connected, and resilient multimodal
transportation system that provides mobility and accessibility options for Martin County’s
residents and visitors in a sustainable, healthy, and equitable manner.
